Today we headed out early to cheer my friend Andrea on in her ride. She is participating in The Ride to Conquer Cancer which left Surrey, B.C. at 7:00 am this morning and will bike to Seattle, WA with a stopover in Mt. Vernon, WA this evening. We stopped at the Marine Drive Park cheering station in Bellingham.
The girls made a sign for Andrea in the car today. It was a bit cool and windy when we got there this morning but we figured that it was good biking weather ~ not raining and not too hot!Katie decided that honking the horn as the bikers went by was a great way to show support!
Andrea's brother John and her father Bruce showed up to cheer too!
John didn't think it was a good idea for Katie to honk as the bikers went by. She got a little over zealous and he decided to take care of it! She was sitting in the drivers seat and you can see her foot sticking up!!Here comes Andrea!!! We got to the park at 9:00 am this morn and she arrived at about 12:15. Unfortunately there was an 1½ hour wait at the border!!
Andrea has a very cool Cookie Monster Biking Jersey!!
The girls had picked some flowers for Andrea too and she wanted to take them with her in the back of her Jersey!
There goes Andrea!! I don't think it's too much farther to Seattle Andrea!!
