Things are looking a little different at our house this year!

As most of you know, Katie has been very involved in Destination Imagination for the past 4 years. She has made it to Global Finals in Knoxville, TN for the past 3 years which is quite the accomplishment. And just in case you haven't heard ~ Katie is a Global Champion ~ LOL!

Emily joined the DI family last year but her team did not make it out of our Regional Competition. I was concerned that she would be upset but she handled it very well.

Both of the girls competed in the Private DI Challenge. Emily in the Elementary level and Katie in the Middle School level.

This year however, Emily's team took First Place in the Regional Competition and that automatically qualified them for a berth at this year's State Competition.

Katie's team took Second Place and it wasn't until a couple of days later that they were informed that they had secured a Wild Card Berth and would also be competing in our State Competition.

State's are only in 2½ weeks on March 28 so stay tuned for the results!

On a side note, last month Emily's school had a Family Math Night and Emily was asked to present a Math Poem with her classmate Andrew in front of the whole audience. For those of you that know Emily well, know that this is totally out of Emily's comfort zone and I was really proud of her for doing it anyways. She was extremely nervous but ended up doing a fantastic job! I forgot my camera that night but was able to find a picture of her and Andrew on the School's website. Check out the size difference between the two!

Congratulations to Katie and Emily for their DI accomplishments! Great pictures, and I like the one of Emily at the end during her presentation.
